29 JUNE 2016 - PETE MOYLAN PITCHES SCORELESS FRAME!
Here is an update of what some Aussies and former AMLB imports have been doing in the US major leagues:

Peter Moylan

Mychal Givens

Aussie evergreen PETER MOYLAN worked through a scoreless inning of relief for the Kansas City Royals at the end of their 4-8 defeat by the St.Louis Cardinals at Kauffman Stadium. Pete threw nine of 14 pitches for strikes while recording the line of 1.0ip 1h 0er 1bb 1k (3.38 ERA).
He banked the top of the ninth quite conclusively, even after Matt Holliday reached on an infield single to lead off the inning. Holliday was erased when Pete's next pitched rolled a double play ball when Stephen Piscotty grounded back to the mound for him to initiate the twin killing. It proved to be a big play when Thomas Pham worked a 0-2 count into a six pitch walk, but again it counted for little when Moylan struck out Jhonny Peralta on just four pitches to end the inning.

DIDI GREGORIUS (Canberra Cavalry 2011) batted 1-4 (.287) for the New York Yankees, but it could not help them much in a lop-sided 1-7 loss to the Texas Rangers.

Still riding the crest of a strong offensive wave is left fielder BRANDON BARNES (Sydney Blue Sox 2012) who batted 2-5 (.279) while also scoring twice for the Colorado Rockies who lost a high-scoring slugfest 9-14 to the Toronto Blue Jays.

Converted ABL infielder MYCHAL GIVENS (Perth Heat 2012) pitched a strong 1.1ip 1h 0er 0bb 1k (3.63 ERA) in another high-scoring win for the Baltimore Orioles 11-7 over the San Diego Padres.

28 JUNE 2016 - DIDI GREGORIUS & BRANDON BARNES HIT THREE TIMES EACH!
Here is an update of what some Aussies and former AMLB imports have been doing in the US major leagues:

Didi Gregorius
New York Yankees short stop DIDI GREGORIUS (Canberra Cavalry 2011) is certainly doing his best to help Yankee fans to forget the departure of the great Derek Jeter with his solid defence and a steadily improving offence. Gregorius is on a real roll lately, batting 3-5 (.288) with a RBI and a run scored as a solid performer in their 6-9 loss to the in-form Texas Rangers.

Another former ABL import to enjoy a three-hit game was BRANDON BARNES (Sydney Blue Sox 2012) who has also discovered a rich vein of form lately. Barnes batted 3-4 with a run scored and a run batted in to help the Colorado Rockies to overcome the Toronto Blue Jays 9-5 in interleague play.

27 JUNE 2016 - LIAM HENDRIKS & PETE MOYLAN BOTH BATTLE HARD!
Here is an update of what some Aussies and former AMLB imports have been doing in the US major leagues:

Liam Hendriks

Aussie ace LIAM HENDRIKS unfortunately took the loss when pitching 0.2ip 2h 1r 1er 1bb 0k at the pointy end of Oakland's rather demoralising loss to a strong finishing LA Angels on the road. Liam was called to arms for the bottom of the ninth with the 'Halos' already buoyed by a comeback from 2-6 down with a pair of runs in each of the previous two innings that tied the game. Facing the meat of the Angels' lineup, Liam battled manfully, but he was under the pump when Mike Trout singled to left and Albert Pujols did likewise with a single into left. Hendriks got C.J Cron to pop out to the short stop, but he then lost a critical battle with Johnny Giavotella who worked a full count walk to load the bags. The walkoff winner came when Jefry Marte lofted a sacrifice fly to right field from the first pitch he faced. It's never a nice feeling for any pitcher, yet it was a very tough task that left him with the current record of 0-1, 7.17 ERA.

The previous game HENDRIKS gave up a few hits but he proved strong enough to work around them while pitching a useful 1.2ip 3h 0r 0er 0bb 1k for the Oakland Athletics that allowed them to cruise to a 7-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. Liam took the mound in Anaheim with one on and two out in the bottom of the sixth that he put away swiftly by getting Shane Robinson to line out to right on just two pitches.
Back for the bottom of the seventh, Hendriks needed just one pitch to get Johnny Giavotella to line out to centre field ahead of Kole Calhoun's one out single into left field. He then battled young superstar Mike Trout for six pitches before have him struck out swinging on a 2-2 count. Liam added another big name notch to his belt with ageing superstar Albert Pujols lining out to right field. On extended duty that is not unfamiliar to him, Liam secured the first out in the bottom of the eighth with Jefry Marte grounding out to the short stop, but he was lifted when Jett Bandy singled to left and Andrelton Simmons followed with a "bloop" single into shallow right.

More seasoned Aussie PETER MOYLAN was also in big league action with some tough middle-relief work during the mayhem of his Kansas City Royals 5-13 thrashing at the hands of the dangerous Houston Astros. Pete couldn't keep a clean sheet with 2.2ip 3h 2r 2er 1bb 2k (3.57 ERA) as just one of the Royals staff to find the going tough at Kauffman Stadium. Called in to early fireman action during the top of the third, Pete inherited runners perched at second and third with just the one out and he did a good job to douse the fire with George Springer struck out swinging on three pitches and Marvin Gonzalez tagged out at home on a fielder's choice. He ran into some strife in the top of the fourth when Marwin Gonzalez led off with a homer to right, Jose Altuve singled and Carlos Carrea milked a full count walk. Colby Rasmus grounded into a fielder's choice with the runner erased at second, but he couldn't prevent A.J Reed from lifting a sacrifice fly RBI. He ended that inning with Carlos Gomez struck out swinging. Moylan followed with a scoreless top of the fifth, even after Luis Valbuena led off with a double into left field. In sequence he got Jason Castro to ground out to second, George Springer to ground out to the short stop and Marwin Gonzalez to fly out to centre field.

BRANDON BARNES (Sydney Blue Sox 2012) hasn't seen a lot of playing time with the Colorado Rockies this season, but he might see a fair bit more after batting 3-4 (.220) with three runs scored that helped them to overrun the Arizona Diamondbacks 11-6.

JOEY RICKARD (Brisbane Bandits 2014) batted a more than handy 2-5 (.267) with a run batted in for the Baltimore Orioles who romped 12-5 over the division rival Tampa Bay Rays. Rickard also batted 2-4 with a RBI to help the Orioles to beat the Rays 8-6.

Unable to do much to help the San Diego Padres who were shut out 0-3 by the Cincinnati Reds was reliever BRANDON MAURER (Adelaide Bite 2011) who pitched a mixed outing with 1.0ip 2h 0er 0bb 2k (5.89 ERA).

24 JUNE 2016 - LIAM HENDRIKS HURT BY HOME RUN BALL!
Here is an update of what some Aussies and former AMLB imports have been doing in the US major leagues:

Liam Hendriks
Aussie LIAM HENDRIKS was touched by a solo long ball that took the edge off his second major league comeback game yesterday when he relieved for the Oakland Athletics during their 2-4 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers. Liam took over the top of the eighth inning and it required just four pitches for him to get the first two outs with Jonathan Lucroy grounding out to the first baseman and Chris Carter to foul out to the third baseman. Unfortunately his next pitch to Kirk Nieuwenhuis was deposited over the left centre fence for a solo homer. He then battled Martin Maldonado to a full count which resulted in a single up the middle that ended his brief outing today. It left him with the pitching line of 0.2ip 2h 1er 0bb 0k (7.58 ERA).

Seasoned reliever BRANDON MAURER (Adelaide Bite 2011) was pretty sharp today while collecting his 13th hold of the season by pitching 1.0ip 1h 0er 0bb 3k (6.06 ERA) that helped the San Diego Padres to hold off the Cincinnati Reds 7-4. Maurer also pitched 1.0ip 0h 0er 0bb 1k for the Padres in yesterday's 2-7 defeat by the 'O-Birds'.

Old "grey beard' DAVID ROSS (MLB All-Stars 2001) clocked his sixth home run of the season this morning while batting 1-3 (.247) plus a walk with the obvious RBI and the run scored for the Chicago Cubs during their 2-4 defeat by the Miami Marlins.

DIDI GREGORIUS (Canberra Cavalry 2011) batted 1-3 (.286) with a walk, a run batted in and a run scored to assist the New York Yankees to squeeze past the Colorado Rockies 9-8. In the same game BRANDON BARNES (Sydney Blue Sox 2012) batted 1-4 (.171) as the #9 hole hitter for the 'Rox'.

22 JUNE 2016 - DIDI GREGORIUS DOUBLES & TRIPLES FOR YANKEES!
Here is an update of what some Aussies and former AMLB imports have been doing in the US major leagues:

Didi Gregorius
Continuing his strong hitting form lately was the increasingly impressive New York Yankees short stop DIDI GREGORIUS (Canberra Cavalry 2011) who rifled a couple more extra base hits during their 4-8 loss to the Colorado Rockies. Didi nailed a double and a triple while batting 2-4 (.286) with a run batted in and a run scored.

Although he has enjoyed a lot more success than failure since his transition from middle infielder to relief pitcher, MYCHAL GIVENS (Perth Heat 2012) endured an inevitable "shocker" that bites every pitcher from time to time. Givens was saddled with the loss after pitching a horrible 0.0ip 3h 4er 2bb 0k (3.78 ERA) for the Baltimore Orioles who were overrun 7-10 by the unpredictable offence of the San Diego Padres at Camden Yards.

21 JUNE 2016 - FORMER BANDITS TEAM MATES RICKARD & GOEDDEL HIT TWICE!
Here is an update of what some Aussies and former AMLB imports have been doing in the US major leagues:

Tyler Goeddel
Starting right fielder and #2 hole hitter JOEY RICKARD (Brisbane Bandits 2014) batted 2-4 (.263) with a run batted in for the Baltimore Orioles who were just nudged out by the home standing Texas Rangers 3-4 in Arlington.

His former Brisbane ABL team mate and fellow outfielder TYLER GOEDDEL (Brisbane Bandits 2014) also enjoyed a two-hit game by batting 2-3 (.242) with a double and a run batted in for the Philadelphia Phillies as their only scoring in their 1-3 defeat by the Arizona Diamondbacks.

20 JUNE 2016 - LIAM HENDRIKS & PETER MOYLAN BOTH STRONG!
Here is an update of what some Aussies and former AMLB imports have been doing in the US major leagues:

Liam Hendriks
As outlined in our PRO PLAYER OF THE WEEK yesterday, it was terrific to see Aussie LIAM HENDRIKS back in big league action after recently coming off the disabled list due to "arm discomfort". Liam went on the 15-day DL and he has come through a few rehab assignments in preparation for his return. It proved to be a very positive comeback for the right hander who pitched 2.0ip 0h 0r 0er 0bb 2k (7.36 ERA) for the Oakland Athletics who could not find a run throughout their 0-2 loss to the Los Angeles Angels and their "great survivor" veteran pitcher Jered Weaver.
Hendriks took the ball to begin the top of the seventh and he sat down the inning in some style by getting Andrelton Simmons to fly out to left and Carlos Perez to fly out to right before having Shane Robinson called out on strikes. Back for the top of the eighth, he struck out Yunel Escobar on four pitches, had Kole Calhoun line out to left and Mike Trout line out to the second baseman.
It was crisp and decisive stuff that we hope he can build upon.

Australia's PETER MOYLAN was also a very strong performer with 2.1ip 1h 0r 0er 0bb 1k (3.00 ERA) for the Kansas City Royals who outlasted the Detroit Tigers 2-1 after 13 long innings at Kauffman Stadium.
Pete thrived in the pressure cooker of extra innings after taking over for the top of the tenth in a deadlocked 1-1 ballgame. He began by getting Nick Castellanos and Justin Upton to ground out to short before Steven Moya singled up the middle. The inning concluded with James McCann flying out to centre field.
In the top of the eleventh he got both Jose Iglesias and Ian Kinsler to ground out to the short stop either side of striking out Cameron Maybin for a three up, three down frame. Moylan then added the first out in the top of the twelfth by getting powerhouse slugger Miguel Cabrera to ground out to short. There can be little doubt that our man played a vital role in getting his team over the line in this one.

Another man we hadn't seen in major league action for a while was former ABL import BRANDON BARNES (Sydney Blue Sox 2012) who started at left field for the Colorado Rockies in their 0-3 loss to the Miami Marlins. Barnes batted 0-3 (.171) but he did manage to milk a walk.

19 JUNE 2016 - VETERAN DAVID ROSS NAILS HIS 5th HOMER FOR 2016!
Here is an update of what some Aussies and former AMLB imports have been doing in the US major leagues:

David Ross
Although he has always been best described as a "streaky" hitter, ageless catcher DAVID ROSS (MLB All-Stars 2001) once again showed how dangerous he can be on his day with 1-1 (.245) with two RBIs and two walks, including his 5th home run of the season. His run production proved to be vital for the Chicago Cubs who just edged the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-3 today.

New York Yankees short stop DIDI GREGORIUS (Canberra Cavalry 2011) is coming on strong offensively lately, adding another 3-4 (.287) effort today to help the Yanks to overrun the hapless Minnesota Twins 7-6 in Minneapolis. Yesterday Gregorius batted 1-5 with a pair of runs driven in as part of the Yankees convincing 8-2 win over the 'Twinkies'.

Corner outfielder JOEY RICKARD (Brisbane Bandits 2014) batted 1-3 (.259) for the division leading Baltimore Orioles who topped the Toronto Blue Jays 4-2 this morning.

BRANDON MAURER (Adelaide Bite 2011) was unscathed yesterday after pitching a solid 1.0ip 0h 0er 0bb 1k (6.55 ERA) for the San Diego Padres who fell 5-7 to the tough Washington Nationals.

Didi Gregorius
17 JUNE 2016 - PETER MOYLAN IS MAULED BY TIGERS!
Here is an update of what some Aussies and former AMLB imports have been doing in the US major leagues:

Peter Moylan
Aussie stalwart PETER MOYLAN had a rough day today, pitching a rather nasty 1.0ip 4h 3r 3er 1bb 0k (3.55 ERA) as one of the Kansas City Royals pitchers to be punished in a 4-10 defeat at the hands of the very dangerous Detroit Tigers. Pete took to the hill to begin the top of the eighth with his team just 4-6 behind, but things were to fall apart for the Royals pretty swiftly from there. Andrew Romine singled to right and Nick Costellanos walked on a full count to get the ball rolling for the Tigers. Justin Upton took advantage with a RBI single to right and James McCann followed with a sacrifice fly RBI for the first out. Mike Aviles grounded out to the short stop for the second out, however, the scoring didn't end there when the experienced Ian Kinsler drove in another run with a RBI single into right field. Jose Iglesias reached on an infield single to keep the line moving before Moylan finally stopped the bleeding with superstar Miguel Cabrera flying out to centre field. It's not always a soft ride folks!

Left fielder JOEY RICKARD (Brisbane Bandits 2014) was a strong contributor as the #2 slot hitter with 2-4 (.257) plus a walk for the Baltimore Orioles who rolled the home-standing Boston Red Sox 5-1 today.

Joey Rickard
16 JUNE 2016 - DIDI GREGORIUS 5th HOME RUN NOT ENOUGH FOR YANKS!
Here is an update of what some Aussies and former AMLB imports have been doing in the US major leagues:

Didi Gregorius

Joey Rickard

Not even a fifth home run of the season and three runs driven in from short stop DIDI GREGORIUS (Canberra Cavalry 2011) could save the inconsistent New York Yankees from being out-slugged 10-13 by the Colorado Rockies at the "long ball friendly" Coors Field in Denver. Gregorius did pretty much all he could by batting 2-4 (.271) with those three RBIs and two runs scored in the losing cause. Didi carried over his good form today by batting 2-4 (.275) with another RBI in a 3-6 loss to the 'Rox'.

Starting centre fielder KEON BROXTON (Sydney Blue Sox 2014) did not manage a safe hit but he did walk once while batting 0-2 (.130) for the Milwaukee Brewers who were just edged out 2-3 by the San Francisco Giants.

Two former ABL imports were in action for the Baltimore Orioles during their tight 3-2 win over the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park yesterday. JOEY RICKARD (Brisbane Bandits 2014) batted 1-4 while reliever MYCHAL GIVENS (Perth Heat 2012) would not have enjoyed his 0.1ip 1h 1er 1bb 0k (2.87 ERA) effort, even though it recorded his seventh save of the season. Today Rickard batted 1-3 (.253) as the starting right fielder for the Orioles who were trumped 4-6 by the 'Bosox' today.

Evergreen catcher DAVID ROSS (MLB All-Stars 2001), who says he is in his last season this year, batted a very significant 1-2 (.239) with a walk and key RBI for the Chicago Cubs to help them to squeeze past the Washington Nationals 4-3.

BRANDON MAURER (Adelaide Bite 2011) grabbed his twelfth hold of the season today by pitching a solid 1.0ip 0h 0er 0bb 0k (6.75 ERA) for the San Diego Padres to help them to double the Miami Marlins 6-3 today.

13 JUNE 2016 - KEON BROXTON & DAVID ROSS SWING THE BATS!
Here is an update of what some Aussies and former AMLB imports have been doing in the US major leagues:

Keon Broxton
Centre fielder KEON BROXTON (Sydney Blue Sox 2014) made a good offensive contribution for the Milwaukee Brewers by batting 2-4 (.140) with a RBI and a run scored in their 5-4 win over the New York Mets.

Veteran backstop DAVID ROSS (MLB All-Stars 2001) brought his unpredictable stick with him yesterday to bat 2-4 (.236) with a walk two RBIs to help his Chicago Cubs to romp 13-2 over one of his former clubs the struggling Atlanta Braves.

Usually reliable reliever MYCHAL GIVENS (Perth Heat 2012) ran into a speed bump during his Baltimore Orioles 9-10 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays in a battle of the high-powered offences. He pitched a torrid 1.0ip 1h 3er 2bb 2k (2.61 ERA).

DIDI GREGORIUS (Canberra Cavalry 2011) didn't record a hit, but he did walk once while batting 0-3 (.266) for the New York Yankees who fell 1-4 to the Detroit Tigers.

12 JUNE 2016 - JOEY RICKARD HOMERS FOR 5th TIME THIS SEASON!
Here is an update of what some Aussies and former AMLB imports have been doing in the US major leagues:

Joey Rickard

Brandon Maurer

ABL import JOEY RICKARD (Brisbane Bandits 2014) was back hitting in the #2 hole and starting at right field for the Baltimore Orioles today, but even his best offensive efforts could not prevent them from falling 6-11 to the dangerous Toronto Blue Jays. Rickard ripped his fifth home run of the season while batting an impressive 3-5 (.251) with the one RBI.

His ABL import team mate TYLER GOEDDEL (Brisbane Bandits 2014) didn't start for the Philadelphia Phillies this morning, but he still batted 1-2 (.244) after coming into the game as a defensive replacement at right field during their 0-8 shutout loss to the tough Washington Nationals. In yeste4rday's action Goeddel batted 1-3 with a RBI and a walk in the Phillies 6-9 loss to the Nats.

Experienced reliever BRANDON MAURER (Adelaide Bite 2011) emerged from a recent rough patch to strike out all three batters he faced today for the San Diego Padres with a convincing closure of 1.0ip 0h 0er 0bb 3k (7.14 ERA). It was all too late to help San Diego who were beaten 3-5 by the Colorado Rockies.

It was not entirely the fault of short stop DIDI GREGORIUS (Canberra Cavalry 2011) that his New York Yankees could get no closer than a 1-6 defeat by the hot and cold Detroit Tigers. Didi batted 1-3 (.270) plus a walk for the team that recorded just six total hits. Yesterday Gregorius batted 2-3 with two RBIs as the best offensive contributor for the Yankees in their 4-0 win over the Tigers.

Also yesterday, MYCHAL GIVENS (Perth Heat 2012) pitched1.2ip 1h 0er 1bb 2k (1.80 ERA) during the Baltimore Orioles narrow 3-4 defeat by the Toronto Blue Jays.

9 JUNE 2016 - PETE MOYLAN STRONG AGAIN IN LOSS TO ORIOLES!
Here is an update of what some Aussies and former AMLB imports have been doing in the US major leagues:

Peter Moylan
Amid the carnage of a painful 1-9 loss for the Kansas City Royals at the hands of the Baltimore Orioles, at least Australia's PETER MOYLAN could hold his head high for making sure that there was no further embarrassment for the World Champion Royals at the end of the controversial no-contest. The game almost got out of hand after Baltimore's Manny Machado was hit by a pitch and a bench clearing brawl ensued.
Pete pitched the last two innings for KC in rather conclusive style with 2.0ip 0h 0r 0er 1bb 3k (1.54 ERA) while throwing 19 of 28 total pitches for strikes. In the bottom of the seventh he struck out both Chris Davis and Pedro Alvarez either side of getting Jonathan Schoop to ground out to third for the second out.
Back to polish off the bottom of the eighth he fanned Francisco Pena before Ryan Flaherty milked a full count walk. It didn't amount to anything when pinch hitter JOEY RICKARD (Brisbane Bandits 2014) flied out to right field and Hyun Soo Kim flied out to left. Rickard batted 0-1 (.242), while his Baltimore team mate MYCHAL GIVENS (Perth Heat 2012) pitched a strong 2.0ip 0h 0er 1bb 4k (1.91 ERA) in middle relief.

DIDI GREGORIUS (Canberra Cavalry 2011) batted 1-4 (.263) to help the New York Yankees to double the hapless Los Angeles Angels 6-3.

Doing it tough again today was San Diego Padres reliever BRANDON MAURER (Adelaide Bite 2011) who pitched 1.0ip 2h 1er 1bb 1k (7.39 ERA) in their 2-4 loss to the Atlanta Braves today.

6 JUNE 2016 - PETER MOYLAN GOOD IN LOSS TO 'TRIBE'!
Here is an update of what some Aussies and former AMLB imports have been doing in the US major leagues:

Peter Moylan
Experienced Aussie right hander PETER MOYLAN was in major league action again for the Kansas City Royals, throwing 11 of 15 pitches for strikes at the end of their 0-7 shutout loss to the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field. Pete inherited a runner on third and two out situation in the bottom of the seventh which promptly resulted in another run for 'The Tribe' when Francisco Lindor singled into right field to score the runner from third. He polished off that inning by striking out the dangerous Mike Napoli on three pitches. Moylan also took good care of the bottom of the eighth with Lonnie Chisenhall struck out looking, Rajai Davis grounding out to the third baseman and Yan Gomes grounding out to the short stop. His line for the game was 1.1ip 1h 0r 0er 0bb 2k (1.86 ERA). Clearly the resilient 37yo can still cut the mustard in the big leagues after overcoming long-term injuries more than once.

In the Baltimore Orioles 3-1 comeback win over the New York Yankees, right fielder JOEY RICKARD (Brisbane Bandits 2014) batted 1-3 (.354) for the 'O-Birds' while short stop DIDI GREGORIUS (Canberra Cavalry 2011) batted 2-4 (.268) for the Yanks who could not find the finishing line with a 1-0 lead.

BRANDON MAURER (Adelaide Bite 2011) wasn't able to avoid the firing line again while pitching 1.0ip 1h 2er 0bb 1k (7.33 ERA) for the San Diego Padres who were dominated 3-10 by the unpredictable Colorado Rockies.

  5 JUNE 2016 - MYCHAL GIVENS WINS HIS 5th GAME v YANKEES!
Here is an update of what some Aussies and former AMLB imports have been doing in the US major leagues:

Mychal Givens
Recent ABL infielder MYCHAL GIVENS (Perth Heat 2012) racked up his fifth win of the campaign after pitching 1.1ip 0h 0er 0bb 0k (2.05 ERA) for the Baltimore Orioles at just the right time in their 6-5 win over the New York Yankees. Short stop DIDI GREGORIUS (Canberra Cavalry 2011) batted 2-4 (.265) for the defeated Yanks.

TYLER GOEDDEL (Brisbane Bandits 2014) continues to swing a solid bat for the Philadelphia Phillies, legging out a triple today while batting 1-4 (.250) and scoring a run in their 3-6 loss to the battling Milwaukee Brewers.

Tyler Goeddel
3 JUNE 2016 - TYLER GOEDDEL GOES DEEP AGAIN!
Here is an update of what some Aussies and former AMLB imports have been doing in the US major leagues:

Tyler Goeddel
Philadelphia Phillies left fielder TYLER GOEDDEL (Brisbane Bandits 2014) clocked his third home run of the season while batting 1-4 (.255) with two RBIs that provided all of their scoring in a 2-7 defeat at the hands of the strong Washington Nationals.

Former ABL middle infielder MYCHAL GIVENS (Perth Heat 2012) was one pitcher who somehow escaped the carnage while pitching for the Baltimore Orioles in today's high-scoring 12-7 win over the visiting Boston Red Sox. Givens collected the win in a "wild" game with 2.0ip 2h 0er 0bb 3k that took his season record to 4-0, 2.16 ERA.

KEON BROXTON (Sydney Blue Sox 2014) didn't manage a hit as the starting centre fielder for the Milwaukee Brewers during their 3-1 win over the St.Louis Cardinals yesterday, but he did manage to walk twice while batting 0-1 (.083). Clearly his offensive struggles have not helped him to secure a regular spot in their big league lineup.

DIDI GREGORIUS (Canberra Cavalry 2011) batted 1-4 (.261) for the New York Yankees who were blanked 0-7 by the Toronto Blue Jays.

Seasoned reliever BRANDON MAURER (Adelaide Bite 2011) recorded 1.0ip 2h 1er 0bb 0k (6.04 ERA) while closing out the San Diego Padres' blowout 14-6 win over the Seattle Mariners.

1 JUNE 2016 - WARWICK SAUPOLD STUNG BY LA ANGELS!
Here is an update of what some Aussies and former AMLB imports have been doing in the US major leagues:

Warwick Saupold

Australia's 32nd and very latest player to reach the US major leagues WARWICK SAUPOLD had another rough outing with 2.0ip 5h 3r 3er 1bb 2k (10.30 ERA) as one of a few pitchers to suffer in his Detroit Tigers high-scoring 9-11 loss to the Los Angeles Angels. Warwick took over for the bottom of the fourth with his team already trailing 2-6 and with the Angels' offence already running hot. He was immediately on the back foot when his first pitch was dispatched for a double to deep left by Carlos Perez, even though he bounced back to strike out Gregorio Petit on three pitches. His very next pitch resulted in a RBI double from Kole Calhoun and before he knew it the bags were juiced when young gun Mike Trout walked and ageing superstar Albert Pujols was hit by a pitch. The bases loaded situation enabled C.J Cron to deliver a sacrifice fly and Jefry Marte to follow with a RBI single up the middle. The inning mercifully ended when Rafael Ortega lined out to right field. With the game pretty much out of reach, Saupold was allowed to come out again for the bottom of the fifth and he would have felt much better after pitching an efficient scoreless inning to end his outing. It didn't start that way when Cliff Pennington singled to right from his first pitch, but the Aussie bounced back to get Carlos Perez to ground into a double play to the third baseman before finishing with a flourish with Gregorio Petit fanning on three straight pitches. Saupold is certainly throwing plenty of strikes but maybe the big league hitters are enjoying the fact that he mostly around the zone? It is an unforgiving competition that's for sure!

Right fielder JOEY RICKARD (Brisbane Bandits 2014) batted 1-3 (.249) and he scored a run, yet he was unable to do enough to prevent his Baltimore Orioles from losing 2-6 at home to the in-form Boston Red Sox.

DIDI GREGORIUS (Canberra Cavalry 2011) batted 1-4 (.261) for the New York Yankees who were trumped 1-4 by the Toronto Blue Jays.
